Early diagnosis of vasculitis is really important to allow timely commencement of treatment in order to avoid damage and to improve overall outcomes. It's really very critical to diagnose it early but the heterogeneous nature of vasculitis really presents a diagnostic challenge. In many cases, vasculitis is misdiagnosed because a number of diseases can mimic vasculitis. Common things being like infections, allergies and other autoimmune diseases can actually mimic vasculitis, so it really becomes hard to make the diagnosis in the beginning. As such, delays in diagnosis can negatively impact clinical outcomes and frequently they result in increased morbidity and mortality for our patients. So hence, early diagnosis is really critical to improve overall outcomes in vasculitis patients.
