“The patient returned for follow-up three weeks after starting infliximab (Remicade, Janssen) and reported significant improvement. She had one to two formed stools per day without abdominal pain, and her fecal calprotectin had decreased significantly. Three months later, she continued to have non-bloody, formed stools without abdominal pain. A repeat intestinal ultrasound showed normal bowel wall thickness under three millimeters and no signs of hyperemia. Fecal calprotectin had also normalized. She remained in remission throughout the pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby girl at term.”
