In a Healio video exclusive, Jacqueline Gaulin, winner of the 2022 Healio Patient Voice Award, discusses her ongoing efforts to improve patient access to digestive health care and expertise.
With a mission to bring educational programs to the forefront, Gaulin, founder of GastroGirl and co-founder of GI OnDemand, aims to meet “patients where they are” to promote inclusive health care through access to expert-led programs, educational resources and new research coming down the pipeline.
“GastroGirl really aims to empower you to feel confident and focused when you’re talking with your health care provider about your care,” Gaulin said. “The more you know and understand about your condition and the various treatment options, the more you feel like you’re an active and engaged participant in your own health care.”

The 2023 Healio Patient Voice award winner will be announced this coming October in Vancouver, Canada during the Healio Disruptive Innovators ceremony at ACG 2023.
