MIAMI — In a Healio video exclusive, Jennifer A. Christie, MD, professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, recaps the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion within organizations and academic institutions.
“In health equity, [diversity and inclusion] is the key to being able to improve the health of all patients in our communities,” Christie previously said during her presentation at Scrubs & Heels Summit 2022. “This is a huge task for all of us to participate in and, over time, we will get there. Use your privilege ... to help to work against oppression and to help others feel heard and show solidarity.”
Christie emphasized that diversity, equity and inclusion allows individuals to live up to their optimal value and feel fulfilled in all aspects of their career.
“Our goal is to unleash potential,” she said.
