VIDEO: Direct-to-employer contracting may increase practice revenue, profitability

KOLOA, Hawaii — In this video from Orthopedics Today Hawaii, Sam Moen discusses how direct contracting with employers can increase the revenue and profitability of an orthopedic practice.

“What we are sensing is there is a huge shift in the market where employers are having to pay more for health care options. What they are doing is they are willing to negotiate,” Moen, co-founder, president and chief operating officer of MDDirect, told Healio. “As an orthopedic group, [musculoskeletal] MSK care is a high priority for them. For areas such as manufacturing, 20% of their spending is in orthopedics. That is a great place to negotiate for better contracts and better deals.”
