Kristine Houck, MA, ELS

Houck is a medical journalist and editor. She received her BA in Biology from Drew University and her MA in Writing from Rowan University. She became a Board-certified Editor by the Board of Editors in Life Sciences (BELS) in 1999.

Houck has been in medical publishing since 1995. She is a Senior Editorial Director of the orthopedics and nephrology content teams. She has written and edited for numerous specialties at Healio (formerly known as SLACK Incorporated) since 1997. Houck has been an adjunct professor for Rowan University’s Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts since 2003.

Her teams have been recognized numerous time in the APEX Awards for Publication Excellence, American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors and other medical journalism award competitions over the years.
