“There is a lot of value in how [pediatric] patients move through the system and the different ways that we look at cost for kids because it is not only their cost of treatment at that time, but it is throughout their lifetime, which we are lacking in some of that data into adulthood,” Whitaker, associate professor at the University of California Davis and Shriners Hospital Northern California, told Healio.
