BARCELONA, Spain — In this Healio Video Perspective from the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting, ESCRS president Filomena Ribeiro, MD, PhD, speaks about key initiatives of the organization.
The BOSS project, short for Building Our Sustainable, Inclusive Society, focuses on promoting a culture of diversity, inclusivity and openness in ophthalmology.
“We did a survey to assess what the barriers are for our members,” Ribeiro said. “As we could expect, one of the barriers is gender, but a second, more important barrier is access to surgical training.”
