VIENNA — Empathy and a caring environment are core in the practice of medicine, and this also applies to the way physicians interact with patients digitally, according to Vance Thompson, MD.
“Leveraging digital tools can not only help the practice be more efficient and deliver health care at a lower cost but also make for a more positive patient education experience,” he said at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons meeting.
Keys to a positive and caring digital experience are making it as simple as possible, choosing the right time and cadence to deliver it, and optimizing the content.
