VIENNA —In this Healio Video Perspective from the ESCRS meeting, Matteo Forlini, MD, speaks about a new method to simultaneously correct aniridia and aphakia in post-traumatic cases.

The Reper artificial iris is a customizable iris diaphragm that incorporates an IOL and has three small holes for scleral fixation.

Reper is a Russian company that stopped distribution of the artificial iris this year because of the war. Rayner has acquired this product, which is now distributed from the U.K.

“So, it is still available, and we can continue to use this prosthesis,” Forlini said.
