VIDEO: Council chair highlights hot topics at Digestive Disease Week 2022

In this Healio video exclusive, Loren Laine, MD, Digestive Disease Week council chair, discusses programs and resources that health care professionals — whether attending in person or virtually — can expect at this year’s annual meeting.

“One of the most exciting things for DDW is the personal interactions and the networking,” Laine, professor and chief of digestive diseases at Yale School of Medicine, said. “Again, it’s very exciting to have this occurring for the first time in 3 years.”

According to Laine, DDW 2022 will feature more than 3,100 abstracts and hundreds of lectures on topics such as COVID-19’s impact in gastrointestinal and liver diseases; disparities in health care; diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives; advances in artificial intelligence; and new research and studies on the gut microbiome.

Laine encourages attendees to use the DDW online planner or download the mobile app to search scientific sessions, browse abstracts, create itineraries and more.
