In an exclusive video with Healio Gastroenterology, Loren Laine, MD, FACG, chair of the Digestive Disease Week counsel, Yale School of Medicine, highlighted a few presentations from Digestive Disease Week.

He specifically detailed abstracts that were considered of interest by the four DDW societies including AGA, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. One ASGE abstract described a randomized controlled trial of over-the-scope clips for upper GI bleeding. An AGA abstract discussed whether biologic therapy can be stopped in patients with Crohn’s disease who had complete remission clinically and endoscopically. An SSAT abstract included a retrospective study of patients who underwent laparoscopic fundoplication for gastroesophageal reflux disease and an AASLD abstract focused on COVID-19 in liver transplant recipients.

Laine announced DDW 2022 will be in San Diego, California.
