In this exclusive video, Monique van Leerdam, MD, and Matthias Löhr, MD, PhD, discuss the need for increased awareness about pancreatic cancer.
Van Leerdam, from Leiden University in the Netherlands, said that although pancreatic cancer is not as high profile as other cancers, by 2030, it will be No. 2 in terms of cancer-related deaths.
Löhr, from Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, said pancreatic should be considered a medical emergency, and if suspected, it should be addressed immediately.
