Adam Cheifitz, MD, director of the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, said it is difficult to understand the COVID-19 virus. Physicians don’t truly know much about it. Further, Cheifitz said there is barely enough personal protective equipment to go around and the government needs to be better prepared for these types of crises.
