Adam Cheifitz, MD, director of the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, discussed the use of telehealth and phone calls at his institution. He said the impact of COVID-19 will be long-term. Patients may avoid being seen by physicians even if they should be seen and private practices are only doing emergency procedures at hospitals.
