VIDEO: Olympus brings artificial intelligence to endoscopy

PHILADELPHIA — In this exclusive video perspective from the American College of Gastroenterology annual meeting, Kurt Heine, group vice president for the Olympus of America endoscopy division, discusses some of the company’s advances in the realm of endoscopy.

“It ultimately includes advancements of scope technology, optics, and ultimately artificial intelligence,” Heine told Healio Gastroenterology and Liver Disease.

With AI, Heine said physicians will be able to see better during procedures and more accurately diagnose diseases.

“With earlier diagnosis, leads to better treatment algorithms and ultimately better patient care,” he said.

Disclosure: Heine is employed by Olympus of America.
