WASHINGTON — In this exclusive video perspective from Digestive Disease Week 2018, Healio Gastroenterology and Liver Disease spoke with Kurt Heine, endoscopy division group vice president of Olympus Corporation for the Americas, about the recently announced codevelopment agreement between ai4gi and Olympus for endoscopic development.

“Artificial intelligence is all around us right now and in everything we do on a daily basis, so an entrance into health care makes perfect sense,” Heine said. “We want to try to address the triple aim of trying to improve clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction and the cost of the procedure. We feel this [agreement] will help us attain those different things.”
