NEW YORK — In this exclusive video, Jack Braha, DO, a practitioner at Brooklyn Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, discusses how physicians can make “the conversation about poop” easier for patients with irritable bowel syndrome.

“There are plenty of folks who are suffering from the irritable bowel syndrome ... who have a hard time bringing this up with their physicians, and it is important to have this conversation, because there are great treatments available, new to market, new to class, that are excellent at treating irritable bowel syndrome, both constipation and diarrhea and types,” Braha told Healio Gastroenterology and Liver Disease. “For physicians out there, some of the ways we can broach this topic is to simply say to patients, ‘Tell me about your poop.’”

Recently, Braha also shared “5 key questions for patients to help diagnose IBD,” which you can read here.
