At-home Gluten Test Launched in US, Canada
Glutenostics has launched an at-home gluten exposure test called Gluten Detective in the U.S. and Canada.
The test allows people on a gluten-free diet to test their urine or stool for gluten fragments consumed over the prior 1 to 2 or more days, according to a press release.
“This revolutionary and one-of-a-kind technology will empower people to take control of their gluten-free life and improve adherence to the diet through scientifically informed decision making,” David Winternheimer, PhD, CEO of Glutenostics, said in a press release. “Whatever your motive for maintaining gluten-free living, Gluten Detective is a flexible monitoring tool to provide valuable insight into your dietary composition, and afford users peace of mind.”
The technology was developed by a Spanish company called Biomedal, and Glutenostics is the exclusive licensee and distributor in the U.S. and Canada, where it will commercialize Gluten Detective as part of a global roll-out of lab- and home-based gluten tests.
Glutenostics also announced their new investor Patrick Baeuerle, “cited as the most successful biotech entrepreneur in Germany.”
“Glutenostics is transforming the way people live gluten-free, both with these novel tests and assessment of future product opportunities in our pipeline,” Winternheimer said in the press release.
