Miraca Life Sciences announced it has worked with Wolters Kluwer during its most recent release of its ProVation MD software to automatically populate the pathology section of the GI Quality Improvement Consortium form for single colonoscopies, according to a press release.

The company has also worked with gMed to automate the GIQuIC pathology section within the gGastro electronic health record system, according to a separate press release.

“This new reporting capability furthers our commitment to clinicians to help them meet reporting requirements and stay independent,” Tom Zaves, senior vice president of sales and product strategy for Miraca Life Sciences, said in a press release.

This time-saving automation is facilitated by combining Miraca’s structured diagnostic terminology with smart electronic interfaces to improve the current free-form text approach for pathology diagnoses. Miraca’s pathology reports are sent electronically to ambulatory surgery centers and endoscopy centers through these interfaces, and the structured diagnostic data flows directly into patient charts for immediate data access.

“Staff submitting PQRS data through GIQuIC will need only to enter each patient’s follow-up interval,” according to the press releases.

The ProVation MD software update also automates the Adenoma Detection Rate Report using Miraca’s pathology data.
