Healio.com will present live coverage of the American College of Gastroenterology Annual Scientific Meeting from Oct. 14-16 in San Diego.

The conference will feature scientific sessions on topics including IBD, colorectal cancer prevention, functional bowel disorders, and pediatric gastroenterology. In addition, there will be a President’s Plenary session highlighting research the ACG considers noteworthy. Other featured presentations will include the American Journal of Gastroenterology Lecture, presented by Stephen M. Collins, MBBS, and David T. Rubin, MD, on the role of the microbiome in the management and pathogenesis of IBD; and the Emily Couric Memorial Lecture, delivered by Nicholas J. Shaheen, MD, MPH, on the prevention of cancer in patients with Barrett’s esophagus.

Clinical symposia held throughout the meeting will address topics including the future of treatments for IBD and hepatitis C, GI bleeding, colonoscopy quality and malpractice issues.
