Genevieve Neal-Perry, MD, PhD, is an American reproductive endocrinologist and the Robert A. Ross Distinguished Professor and Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UNC School of Medicine. With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Neal-Perry is dedicated to enhancing women's health and reproductive outcomes. Her expertise includes managing infertility, uterine anomalies, endometriosis, menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premature ovarian insufficiency, and menstrual cycle irregularities, among others. Dr. Neal-Perry is highly skilled in advanced fertility-sparing surgery, intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and fertility preservation techniques.
Before her appointment at UNC in April 2020, she significantly contributed to the University of Washington and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Dr. Neal-Perry has held numerous national leadership roles, including as a member of the NIH study section and the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) Division of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her extensive research focuses on the impacts of nutrition, aging, and ovarian hormones on fertility and brain function, earning widespread recognition.
Dr. Neal-Perry is passionate about mentoring, particularly aiding women and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in pursuing careers in science and medicine. Outside her professional endeavors, she enjoys family time, cooking, Zumba, and reading. Dr. Neal-Perry's commitment to excellence in clinical care, research, and education significantly impacts the medical and academic communities, aligning with her vision for advancing healthcare in North Carolina.
