In this video, Lyons Hardy, MS, RN, P-MHNP, clinical assistant professor and concentration lead of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing, discussed new ideas on structuring an inpatient psychiatric unit presented at the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Annual Conference.

Hardy specifically highlighted the potential use of outdoor spaces, new furniture and different layouts presented by a team from Baylor University.

“I thought their process sounded really high-quality and they came up with a great product,” Hardy said.
