The American College of Chest Physicians recently issued new clinical guidance on antithrombotic therapy for arterial thrombosis and thromboembolism in patients with COVID-19.

In this video, Gregory Lip, MD, FRCP, DFM, FACC, FESC, FEHRA, a professor of cardiovascular medicine at the University of Liverpool and senior author of the guidance, reviews specific recommendations for clinicians.

“The expert panel tried to cover the more common reasons for arterial thromboembolism that may well be present either in hospitalized as well as nonhospitalized patients with COVID-19,” he said. “We very much hope this will be a useful and practical guideline to practitioners.”
