Key takeaways:

  • Empathize with mental health conditions by breaking the stigma.
  • Create safe spaces for mental health to be discussed in health care settings.

WASHINGTON — In this video, Natasha Bowman, JD, SPHR, keynote speaker at the Digital Therapeutics Alliance Summit, shares tips for reducing burnout among physicians.

“I know you’re probably thinking: ‘As a provider, I can’t talk about my mental health. That I may seem incapable or incompetent or not confident.’

“Nothing could be farther from the truth. The truth is: One in five people have a mental health condition. It is much more prevalent than we ever could imagine,” Bowman said. “If we are taking care of ourselves, then we can take care of our patients.”
