Despite the availability of effective prescription therapies for menopausal symptoms, many women delayed seeking treatment, often using nonprescription options instead or no treatment at all, according to researchers.

Barbara DePree, MD, NCMP, MMM, director of the Women’s Midlife Services at Holland Hospital in Michigan, said this issue “remains a significantly undertreated area of women's health, and it has significant impact on their quality of life.” It was the top story in endocrinology last week.
