Over the past year, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force has released recommendations on screening and preventive treatment for various medical conditions

One of Healio’s most popular USPSTF stories of 2022 is about guidance on the use of hormone therapy for the primary prevention of chronic conditions in women after menopause. The recommendations advocate against the use of menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) through a combination of estrogen and progestin in postmenopausal people, and MHT through estrogen alone in postmenopausal people who have had a hysterectomy.
