The CDC’s announcement that it was relaxing indoor mask guidance for people who are fully vaccinated was the top story in infectious disease last week.

Another top story was the FDA authorization of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine among children aged 12 to 15 years. The companies formally asked the FDA last month to expand the authorization based on phase 3 data showing that the vaccine is safe and effective in adolescents.
