FDA announces recall of certain MiniMed insulin pumps, market withdrawal of weight-loss drug — top stories in endocrinology

The FDA announced that Medtronic has recalled its 600 series of MiniMed insulin pumps due to a missing or broken retainer ring. It was the top story in endocrinology last week.

Another top story was about the voluntary withdrawal of the weight-loss drug lorcaserin (Belviq) that was pulled from the U.S. market after clinical trial data showed the drug was associated with an increased risk for cancer, according to the FDA.
