Healio announces new publication: Healio Primary Care Today

The publisher of Healio, SLACK Incorporated, recently announced the launch of a new publication, Healio Primary Care Today.

The publication will aim to translate news about specialty-specific diagnostic and treatment modalities solely for the primary care physician.

“The delivery of care continues to evolve from one based on the volume of care to one centered on quality, value and outcomes,” Matthew J. Holland, Chief Commercial Officer of SLACK Incorporated, said. “It is now more important than ever that care coordination, and the dialogue between specialists and primary care physicians, be enhanced to meet these aims.”

Healio Primary Care Today will be circulated to a highly targeted audience of 26,000 physicians, including internal medicine specialists, family medicine practitioners and hospitalists, who care for patients with a number of conditions in the therapeutic areas of cardiometabolic diseases, infectious disease, gastroenterology, rheumatology and psychiatry.

Articles will focus on how developments in these specialties will affect primary care clinicians and their patients.

“The science of medicine is moving fast, particularly in these specialties,” Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Chief Content Officer of SLACK Incorporated, said. “The importance of translating specialty-specific innovation to primary care physicians has never been more acute. Healio Primary Care Today is poised to fill the educational needs of PCPs who diagnose and treat like a specialty physician.”

Healio Primary Care Today will be published six times a year and will debut online at ACP’s Internal Medicine meeting in April 2019 in Philadelphia. – by Alaina Tedesco
