Healio Gastroenterology spoke with Wayne Eskridge, founder and CEO of the Fatty Liver Foundation on the goals the foundation has this year, including increasing screening for liver disease and working around the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said nonalcoholic steatohepatitis is more hazardous than diabetes and smoking, and it is not spoken of enough. He said more people need to be made aware of NASH. Eskridge said the foundation’s goal is to screen 1 million people for liver disease over the next few years and to “blunt the epidemic” of liver disease.
