Outcome Health announced a partnership with the American Liver Foundation to launch a nationwide campaign to promote the recently updated hepatitis C screening recommendations and raise awareness of liver disease, according to a press release.
“Hepatitis C is curable for more than 95% of people who undergo treatment, but 80% of people are unaware they are living with the disease,” Tom Nealon, president and CEO of the American Liver Foundation, said in the release. “Therefore, it is critical that we reach patients with the most up-to-date information about this potentially deadly illness, so they can understand their risk and get tested.”
As part of the campaign, Outcome Health will circulate digital media to educate and inform both patients and health care professional, including updated screening guidelines and basic information about HCV and other liver diseases.
Additionally, Outcome Health will provide educational assets for exam room wallboards across its nationwide network, which will offer access to 3D anatomical renderings that physicians can use during consultations.
“Fifty-five million people across the world don't know that they are living with hepatitis C,” Matt McNally, CEO of Outcome Health, said in the release. “By amplifying this message in partnership with the American Liver Foundation, we can encourage more patients to talk to their doctors about getting tested, and facilitate disease prevention.”
