Healio.com to provide live coverage of The Liver Meeting 2014
Healio.com/Hepatology will offer live coverage from The Liver Meeting beginning Saturday.
The conference, held Nov. 7 to Nov. 11 in Boston, will feature experts speaking on critical topics on Hepatology. More than 9,500 hepatologists and healthcare professionals from around the world are expected to attend, according to the AASLD website, to find out more about the latest research related to hepatitis C virus infection, hepatocellular carcinoma, nonalcoholic steatosis and more.
Program highlights include the State-of-the-Art Lectures, in which innovative research and education on living donor liver transplantation, drug-induced liver injury and liver tumors will be shared to help physicians diagnose and manage patients; sessions on hepatitis C virus infection that tie in with the new drug approvals and drugs in the pipeline for treatment; and abstracts and presentations covering nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, hepatitis, transplantation and more.
HCV Next Editorial Board members will be in attendance including: Stevan A. Gonzalez, MD, MS, who will be moderating a parallel session on currently approved hepatitis C drugs; Mark S. Sulkowski, MD, who will be moderating an HCV symposium and presenting final results from the C-WORTHY clinical trial; Jonathan M. Fenkel, MD, who will be moderating a parallel session on the diagnosis, epidemiology and natural history of hepatitis C; and David L. Wyles, MD, who will be presenting results from a study focused on retreating patients who failed a sofosbuvir-based regimen.
