AASLD creates special interest group
The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases recently formed a new special interest group called Liver Cell Biology in Hepatic Disease.
Mark McNiven, PhD, of the Mayo Clinic, Center for Basic Research in Digestive Diseases, and active member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) since 1992, will serve as chair for a three-year term. McNiven presently serves as chair and professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, program leader of the Mayo Cancer Center, and an associate professor of molecular neuroscience. McNiven will select a steering committee to help lead the group.
