VIDEO: Bitopertin reduces light sensitivity in patients with porphyria
In this video, Amy Dickey, MD, MSc, discusses the results of a study she presented at ASH Annual Meeting, which examined the use of bitopertin in patients with erythropoetic protoporphyria.
Dickey, an assistant professor at Massachusetts General Hospital, highlighted the study, which specifically targeted the form of porphyria that manifests in painful light sensitivity in its patients.
“The study results were very exciting. It was able to decrease protoporphyrin and improve light sensitivity,” Dickey said.
