In this Healio exclusive video, Raj Chovatiya, MD, PhD, discussed research into psoriasis from the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, examining results from the SPROUT study.

Chovatiya, clinical associate professor at Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University and assistant clinical professor at George Washington University School of Health Sciences, discussed apremilast (Otezla, Amgen) treatment in children with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, as well as the drug’s promising results in treating palmoplantar pustulosis.

“(Apremilast) is perhaps a very welcome entrant into a space that largely doesn’t have much in the way of approved targeted therapy,” Chovatiya said.
