VIDEO: Reimbursable remote patient monitoring may lead to improved care

In this Healio Video Perspective from the AWIR Annual Conference, Jeff Curtis, MD, MS, MPH, professor of medicine in the division of clinical immunology and rheumatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, shares three main points of his presentation on comorbidities and outcomes in patients with rheumatic disease.

“There is an opportunity to redesign care with a more expanded and extended care team, not just for the patient in front of you in your office, but when she’s at home and the 360 days a year she’s not coming in to see you,” Curtis told Healio Rheumatology. “This opportunity is unprecedented to transform and improve the way and the tools in which we take care of patients in a way that doesn’t just put on the backs for the rheumatology care provider.”
