We recommend that all children are up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccines, including receiving their 2023, 2024 single strain immunization. There's no sort of additional recommendations beyond the standard for patients with long COVID.

There, early on, were some hints that potentially vaccination helped symptoms in the adult population. This hasn't really borne out in the pediatric population, but what we do know and what we've seen in the literature and anecdotally in our clinic, is that reinfection with COVID-19 causes severe exacerbations in a lot of individuals and we've had kids that have been 75% better or even almost completely back to baseline, got reinfected and then were completely back to where they started, so any tool that is available to help prevent a new or an additional COVID-19 infection is helpful and recommended.
