VIDEO: Eye drops for presbyopia provide new vison correction modality
BOSTON – A wide range of eye drops are being developed to manage presbyopia, Clark Chang, OD, said here at the American Academy of Optometry meeting.
The pilocarpine in the recently approved Vuity by Allergan reduces the pupil aperture, providing an extended depth of focus, he said. Eyenovia’s MicroLine drop is also pilocarpine-based but uses the Optojet delivery device. Lens softening drops by Novartis are still in phase 2 clinical studies. Combination drops are also being investigated.
