INDIANAPOLIS — Alcon’s new Precision7 1-week contact lens strikes the balance between eye care providers’ preference for daily disposable lenses and patients’ desire for a more cost-effective solution, according to Kristen Brotherson.

“The reality is more than half of patients coming into contact lenses still choose a reusable lens because of price point,” Brotherson, vice president and general manager of U.S. vision care at Alcon, said in this Healio video.

As Healio recently reported, Alcon announced the launch of Precision7, a 1-week contact lens featuring Activ-Flo System technology and an intuitive replacement schedule, at Academy 2024.

According to Brotherson, 76% of 2-week wearers report interest in a 1-week lens.

“We think this meets right in the middle of what doctors want and what patients are demanding,” she said.
