ANAHEIM, Calif. – Trefford Simpson, DipOptom, MSc, PhD, from the University of Waterloo, discussed the sensory aspects of pain in patients, here at a symposium held during the American Academy of Optometry annual meeting.
“We are able to more effectively measure ocular surface sensory processing today with the advent of pneumatic esthesiometers,” Simpson said.
He hopes that the future will see clinically relevant devices rather than those limited to lab use, he said.
