So there's a number of factors that lead to diabetic eye disease. The number one thing is poor blood sugar control, and so patients that have higher average blood sugar, it's measured by fasting blood sugar, hemoglobin A1C. Those patients tend to be at greater risk for developing diabetic eye disease, specifically diabetic retinopathy. And then the other factor really is the length of time that they've had diabetic disease. There's also some modifying factors, such as hypertension, so poorly controlled hypertension also can worsen or accelerate disease. And then other cardiovascular risk factors, such as hyperlipidemia, et cetera, can also be contributing factors to diabetic eye disease.
