VIDEO: More inclusive neurologic research needed for underserved LGBTQ+ community

CHICAGO — Nicole Rosendale, MD, assistant professor of neurology at the University of California, San Francisco, discusses highlights from her talk at ANA 2022 on equity in neurologic care for the LGBTQ+ community.
“This is a community that often doesn’t have a lot of visibility within neurologic care, or in health care in general,” she said. “And so, I have the privilege to be able to be talk about some of the issues and why LGBTQ identities are really relevant for a neurologist to know.”
Rosendale also touched on the need for more inclusive research for LGBTQ+ individuals, which would “help us understand what the current needs of this community are and be able to improve the neurologic health for this underserved community.”
