The biggest problem we have with early diagnosis is timely recognition. Most women with endometrial cancer will present with some abnormal vaginal bleeding, whether that's postmenopausal bleeding or a change in menstrual pattern. And so having women get biopsied early is really important. This is particularly an issue as far as with healthcare disparities. There's ample literature showing that women from disadvantaged communities are much less likely to be biopsied in a timely manner. And that's particularly important to know because ultrasounds tend to be less accurate in women with fibroids, and we know that, for instance, black women are much more likely to have fibroids and in the setting of fibroids, ultrasounds are much less accurate for seeing abnormalities in the lining of the uterus. And so it's really important that anyone who has abnormal bleeding has a biopsy in a timely manner.
