Your patient has returned to your clinic 1 month after right knee intra-articular corticosteroid injection for an acute flare of his osteoarthritis.
The patient obtained 2 weeks of complete pain relief from the injection, enough to allow him to participate in his business trip. His right knee pain has returned, however, and he still would like to avoid or delay knee replacement surgery if possible. He continues to seek a longer lasting, nonoperative treatment option.
