Lupus Foundation announces new research grant program
The Lupus Foundation of America announced it is accepting applications for its new grant program for research projects that have been previously funded.
“Scientific findings and prospects have placed us at the brink of breakthrough in several key areas, yet funds to conduct research on lupus are not sufficient to meet demand and sustain the momentum which has been building in recent years,” Graciela S. Alarcon, MD, MPH, chair of the medical-scientific advisory council research committee, Lupus Foundation of America, said in a press release. “The vision behind the … Lifeline Grant Program is to provide temporary support for seasoned lupus investigators who experience a gap in external funding for a specific, previously funded research project.”
The program will provide research funding “to help mitigate the potential loss in scientific momentum and loss of current and future lupus investigators due to disappearing federal research funds,” the release stated.
The foundation also issued requests for application for two other research grant programs, the Gina M. Finzi Memorial Student Summer Fellowship Program and the Career Development Award.
More information on the grants can be obtained on the application page of the foundation’s website.
