Smith & Nephew announced a partnership with Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company to collaborate on AI analytics and solutions for use in the ASC, according to a press release.

The partnership will integrate the orthopedic and sports medicine businesses of Smith & Nephew with the Vitals digital platform and the myrecovery AI platform from Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo) for a comprehensive digital ASC platform.

“The HOPCo solutions will allow our customers to unlock value in the ASC be it through the use of [remote therapeutic monitoring] RTM, [patient-reported outcome measures] PROMs or leveraging analytics to drive efficiencies,” Craig Gaffin, president of global orthopedics at Smith & Nephew, said in the release. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to advancing orthopedic surgery through innovative technology, improving patient outcomes and transforming the future of health care,” he said.

“Smith & Nephew is clearly committed to using outcomes data to enhance the value of its products and services,” David J. Jacofsky, MD, CEO and chair of HOPCo, said in the release. “HOPCo’s myrecovery and Vitals platforms will allow Smith & Nephew to leverage unique longitudinal data to do just that, while simultaneously providing meaningful additional value to customers and improving patient outcomes.”
