A 6-year-old girl presented with worsening hip pain and an energy-inefficient gait pattern.

She had a history of retroperitoneal neuroblastoma status post-resection, chemotherapy between 5 months and 1 year of age with subsequent incomplete paraplegia, bilateral neuromuscular hip dysplasia and bilateral planovalgus deformities. She was insensate without motor function distal to the knee bilaterally.

This video is of a gait lab analysis of the patient that demonstrated an energy-inefficient gait initiated by the hip adductors, given the patient’s paraplegia. Her external foot progression angles were past 90° bilaterally, and she required use of her upper extremities for balance.
