The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons has announced an expanded partnership with PatientIQ to include the cloud-based platform in the AAOS Shoulder & Elbow Registry, according to a press release.

The AAOS Shoulder & Elbow Registry will be the second AAOS registry to be integrated with PatientIQ technology. The AAOS Fracture & Trauma Registry was integrated with PatientIQ in 2022. According to the release, the partnership allows the AAOS to collect registry participation and evidence-based practices from electronic health records using the PatientIQ solution.

“We're excited to continue building a modern clinical registry infrastructure with the AAOS, in which our technology can serve as a powerful conduit to clinical discovery,” Matthew Gitelis, CEO of PatientIQ, said in the release.

“Since the inception of the Shoulder & Elbow Registry, the AAOS has sought to revolutionize the way data can be leveraged to improve patient care,” Grant E. Garrigues, MD, FAAOS, chair of the steering committee for the registry, said in the release. “PatientIQ's technology and expertise in orthopedic data collection and analysis furthers our ability to establish best practices and optimize patient outcomes,” he added.
