Bednar named associate executive director of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery

Michael S. Bednar, MD, has been named associate executive director of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, according to a press release.
Bednar is the chief of hand surgery at Loyola University Medical Center and a professor of orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. According to the release, he will begin the part-time role of associate executive director on July 1.
“The board received applications from many prominent orthopedic surgeons, but Dr. Bednar’s background, insight and skills will be beneficial to the [American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery] in elevating our programs to new levels,” David F. Martin, MD, executive director of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, said in the release. “I’ve known Dr. Bednar for many years and know that he will be successful in this new position,” Martin said.
